Nursing Home Ministry

The Mary Esther Church of God visits the Emerald Coast Nursing Home to Sing, Minister and Fellowship  with the home bound residents on the first Sunday of every month @ 3:00 pm.

Here at Mary Esther Church Of God we believe that our monthly visits to the Emerald Coast Nursing Home is a very important and needed ministry. Many of the residents there have been serving the Lord for the majority of their lives and are used to being able to attending church service on a regular basis. One can only imagine the enormous since of loss with being home bound and unable to attend any church service at all. The desire to sit on a pew next to family or friends and hear the choir sing and the preacher preach. The longing just to shake someones hand and welcome them to church during the morning greetings or to go to the alter and pray with a brother or sister in the Lord. Even the simple privilege of being able to meet church friends at a local restaurant for lunch after Sunday morning service is missed so dearly.

And then, there are those residents that have never accepted Jesus as their personal savior and therefore have never experienced that overwhelming since of peace and joy that comes from knowing the Lord. With nursing home residents being in their "golden years", any one of them could enter eternity at any given moment. They simply must have the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, buried, risen from the dead, alive and well and seated at the right hand of the Father as the intercessor.

As you can see, a need for ministry in the nursing home setting is absolutely huge and the opportunity to do so must never be passed by. We take our nursing home ministry very seriously. At Mary Esther Church Of God, it's not a question of whether we can afford to have a nursing home ministry. It's simply knowing that we can't afford not to.

Let Us Remember....It's because of all the hard work, sacrifices and dedication of our older "Golden"  generation, that we are able to have and enjoy the lifestyles of convenience that we have today.

The nursing home is requiring masks to be worn at this time.
